Today is Day 1 of the final half of graduate studies–better known as Term 4. The photo above introduces my traveling companions for this 10 week odyssey. Excited would be an understatement, as I have come to enjoy these Lit classes, and who doesn’t want more opportunities to fine-tune their writing skills. I know I am in perpetual belief that mine are in need of constant maintenance–my service engine soon light burning so brightly, I’m risking blowing a bulb.
On a side note, the clip hanging above my computer has earned another rejection notice. I am well on my way now. Yes, I took a page out of Stephen King’s handbook. His recollection of hanging his own rejection notices from a nail on the wall has translated into my own source of inspiration–or another page to fuel the fires of creativity. The unexpected drawback has been a flood of differing storylines and an inability to focus on just one. The outcome: my idea notebook is growing fatter and I have been unleashing many more submissions this month than I did last while I await focus to slap me in the back of the head.
This blog and site continue to be a work in progress. I’m trying to get on a regular schedule for the various posts and streamline the look for continuity. This site also cross-posts to my Tumbler account as well as Twitter. Maybe someday before I die, I will get a handle on this whole social media thing.
One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.
